Elka von Cheviot is an adorable 6 month old long haired German Shepherd puppy. She has huge paws and big thick legs so our guess is she has lots of growing to do. She almost looks like a Shiloh Shepherd; they are very much like long haired German Shepherds. They are known to look like they are floating they are so soft on their feet; Elka definitely looks like she is floating. Elka loves everything, she loves other dogs, she loves men and she loves women. She hasn’t met any children yet but we can’t imagine she wouldn’t love them too. Elka loves to play and is an active puppy. She isn’t a barker and she doesn’t chew furniture, she does enjoy a rawhide chew. She was transported from the shelter in a wire crate with a soft bed, she did enjoy being in the crate.  We don’t recommend long hours in a crate for any dog, but when you first bring a puppy home it can help with housebreaking. Elka is a magnificent puppy and will grow up to be really something impressive. She will need more training like any puppy but she wants to be a good girl. The best home for her would be with another large, active male dog. Her donation is $400.
